Today was such a great day!
First, I got to sleep in... a rare occasion, indeed! Actually, I woke up at 7:30 with Madeleine, and then zonked back out on the couch after George got up a few minutes later. But we did get to watch our usual Saturday morning cartoons on Disney. Always cute!
At noon today my sister-in-law got baptized! She has a whole different glow about her. It's just plain amazing! Shawna had to work at 3:00 today so she had to leave right after the baptism, but she brought Rob along. What a nice guy! It's clear that he loves her and her children for who they are, and isn't trying to change them. Let me tell you! That's a refreshing change! It's nice to see her appreciated for once!
After the baptism we all went over to my in-laws' house to celebrate George's, Madeleine's and Greta's birthday, as well as Janna's baptism. It's always fun to get together with the family!
Finally, some of us went to Grandma Leppert's to visit her and see how she's doing. She hasn't been feeling well, so we wanted to drop in and let her know she's loved. I hope she goes to church tomorrow because all of her kids, grandchildren, their spouses, and so on, will be there to celebrate her for Mother's Day. It'll be such a great surprise for her! The picture is of her holding Madeleine when we had her blessed. I know, I know... old picture, but I'm too lazy right now to download our card, so it'll do! :o)
Oh, and I finished Madeleine's bedroom for her birthday. It's all painted and her new bed and bed set are all set up. I must pat myself on the back and say, it looks pretty dang good! So anyway, we decided tonight was a good night to introduce her to sleeping in her own bed. She did the usual routine of saying "ni-night, Mommy!" several times. I laid there with her for a few minutes, and then I told her it was time for "ni-night" and to go to sleep. She cried for a minute when I left the room and came downstairs, but as of now she's out like a light! It only took a couple minutes! Here's hoping she stays asleep all night!
And another thing. We're potty training now. :o) Yup, and she's taking to it like a champ! She went potty twice on the big potty. It took some time and patience, and a lot of laughter between both of us, but she went. So you can imagine the huge amounts of praise she received from us! She's such a good girl! I'll keep you updated on how she does with that!
Until next time... ni-night!
