Madeleine and I went to the Nativities From Around the World tonight at the stake center. Sure, we've been there a couple times already this year, but I wanted to give Madeleine extra time to admire the beauty of the nativity scene. Part of our evening was playing in the childrens' area. As we entered the room where this was, we were asked if we'd like to write on a piece of yellow paper what Madeleine would give to Jesus. Madeleine said she would give Jesus 2 dolls and a big hug, so that's what I wrote down for her. :O) Too cute!
We also went in and had her picture taken in the manger setting. She opted to dress up as an angel, sans wings and halo, but in a purple dress and a purple and gold shaul over her head. She looked absolutely precious! She really wanted to hold the baby Jesus, so that's how we took her picture. I have to get my scanner set up and I can share the two pics with you that we got. It was adorable. And definitely a nice way to spend an evening with my daughter while George was at work.
Speaking of work, no news yet from any place that I've applied. It's definitely frustrating, but we just have to deal with it. We'll see what happens.
We also got our family pictures today and they turned out so well! I'm really pleased, and I must confess that one of my favorite parts is... having a smile I am comfortable with. I have never felt good about my smile because of how crooked my teeth were, but with braces, I have this new-found confidence! They look great, so I'll be posting the pics soon. We had some of them taken with the Jon and Maryanne and their 2 kids, who are our closest friends. They're wonderful, and it was great to get out there and update our family pics with them!
