Reinforcements!

Yesterday George and I went to the temple for stake temple day and really enjoyed ourselves. It's such a huge blessing to have a temple so close. Life always seems to have a way of getting in the way, and we don't go to the temple nearly as often as we should. So we decided we're going to get back in the swing of things and make it a date night at least one Saturday each month.

I've felt very strongly lately that I need to do the work for my ancestors, as I'm not aware of any family members being members of the church. There was a lesson in Relief Society a couple weeks ago that made me feel strongly about doing it. So, hopefully in the next month or so I'll have some names ready to take to the temple for ordinances to perform. Every time we go to the temple, I feel like I'm doing something special for the person I'm taking through. So I can only imagine what it will be like to take my own family members through. Such a special connection.

As my luck would have it, Excelsior had to make some staffing cuts due to the national finance crisis we're experiencing. So, I'm now on-call only. No set Sat and Mon schedule. I understand where they're coming from. I've only been working there 3 weeks or so and I'm only available those two days, so they had to put me on on-call. Well, myself and 15 others! With as tight as money is right now, the state had to scale back rehab facilities 5% each. Hopefully we'll get out of this unscathed and the kids can still get the treatment they so desperately need!

Well, it's time to go to bed. I have to be up early tomorrow, so to make it easier on myself, I'll turn in for the night. :)

(ahh) Why is it tha you are always the one wholooses your job? Heavenly Father must really be feeling the need to try you and George. Atleast with this one you weren't just let go. You still have the possiblility of working those two days. How is your other job going?

I have my whole family history done on my side but don't know where to start on getting the names through the temple. A ward historian talked to us once but they never really got around to saying exactly how to do it. Do you just take the name to someone and they give you a pass to take it through the temple? Any ideas?
