I never knew there were so many ways to cook with wheat! I just got back from the class that was held this morning at the church, and I'm just blown away by all of the wheat options! And guess what... they taste good! And they're healthy!! Even better!!!
I'm definitely going to be trying these recipes here at home. Wheat make a great substitute for noodles, and it adds texture and variety to a lot of other meal ideas, not to mention great breakfast cereals and muffins.
The next class is the 3rd Saturday in April, and we're learning how to make our own flat breads, crackers, tortillas, etc. I can't wait!!
And the kicker of it all? It's so cheap to make each of these types of foods that we're learning about. Winco has a great bulk foods section, and there are other options like Fred Meyer for the organic stuff that won't break the bank. So, good-bye junk foods, hello healthy foods!! Well, slowly, but surely, that is... :)
