Finally, school is almost over. What does one do when they're almost out of school? Why, they go to Chicago, of course!
Since I have done my Bachelor's degree online, graduation is a bit of a jaunt away. Chicago, to be exact. Or Miami, depending on the season. I don't want to wait until next January to walk in graduation, so I'm opting to go to Chicago this August. Does anyone think I'm crazy for wanting to rent a car while there?
Now, some may not find Chicago exciting, but I do, and here's why:
1.) I'm graduating! Who cares where?
2.) Been there many, many times, but never recreationally, and never in the "good" parts of the city. Translate: Dad was a long-haul truckdriver most of my life, went to Chicago a lot, but always in the shady areas. Wouldn't trade those experiences for anything!
3.) Oprah show!!!
4.) Many sites to see!
5.) Belated honeymoon for our May 3rd anniversary (8 years!!!)
6.) I'm graduating!!!
7.) A chance to get away from home for a few days. :)
So, after graduation in August, we then have Bike MS in September. This is the 150-mile bike ride George, Jon, Maryanne, and I ride in to benefit research efforts for Multiple Sclerosis. It's held in beautiful Mullan, ID! It's absolutely gorgeous over there, and the ride is phenomenal. Even better this year because I'm not riding it while 5 months pregnant. :) ***If you would like to donate to our team or find out more information, just ask. You can also go to my Facebook page and click on the thermometer on the left side to make a donation.
Then, in November we're taking a trip to Disneyland!! I haven't been there since I was 12 years old, and George has never been there. This trip is courtesy Mom and Mike for their grandkids. Nice!
I'm so excited about this year! Not just for the opportunity to get out of town a few times, but also for the chance to make changes in my life. Right now I am currently on a quest to lose weight, which is going well so far. I've lost 2 lbs in my first week of working out. Small, sweet victory! I'll just keep working on it! Which reminds me... I need to get to the gym. I've been putting it off for the last 2 1/2 hours. Sweat on!! :)
