For the first time ever, we decided to go to Skyfest. The heat. Oh, the heat... it was horrible. And the noise. Now, duh, there's going to be a lot of noise. We planned ahead and brought earplugs, as any sensible parent would do. But Madeleine still had a hard time with the noise. She was crying and covering hear ears, as you'll see in the last picture.
Now, it was awfully nice of the first person, even the second person, to come up and offer earplugs to me for her. Keep in mind she had a pair in her ears the whole time. By the eighth person, I was more than irritated. Especially since all of the people around us should have seen and heard the previous earplug conversations. I finally lost it and snapped at the last guy that offered. Why? I was overly hot, irritated, sympathetic for Madeleine, and ticked off that *another* person offered us Air Force logo earplugs. At that point I felt like all of those people were questioning my ability as a parent. Irrational? Yup. The heat really, really got to me, as well as everyone else in the group. I felt awful after having processed my little blow-up on the last guy that offered earplugs. If I could find him, I'd apologize profusely!
So, will we go to Skyfest again? Not likely. But who knows? Maybe my opinion will be swayed in two years when they return.....

You might not go in two years. Little George will be the one then that will do the crying. The heat will be the same. And you...well you will probably blow up at the 3rd person who offers you ear pugs!
We went two years ago and had a very simular experience to the one you had this year, except, I didn't blow up at anyone because we didn't plan ahead. So we had the air fource ear plugs, so no one bothered us to buy them, seeing that we already had. AND Jeff wore black flip flops and burned the bottoms of his feet from the flip flops being too hot. That'll teach him! I think we might go back when the boys are much, much older.
Wish I could have gone! I think the last picture was my favorite haha.
