Today while George was out helping someone roof their house, I took the opportunity to get caught up on some much-needed housework. I got the kitchen (somewhat) clean, along with our bedroom. I also gathered up some laundry to get that done before Sunday. All was going well, and life was good, until the breaker to the dryer shut down. "No problem", I thought to myself. George can go downstairs and reset the breaker. So, when he got home, he did just that. I turned on the dryer, and VOILA! It came on! So, I went back to doing some other cleaning, when the breaker shut down again. "Serious??", I grumbled. George dutifully went back down to the basement and hit the breaker. A bit perterbed, I went back to cleaning. And guess what! Yup, the breaker shut off again. This time I went to the dryer and checked inside. It smelled like something was burning! So I hastily took our clothes out of there and investigated. The smell was rather apparent, and the LAST thing I wanted to be dealing with at the moment. Or any moment, for that matter! This, on top of the fact that the dryer has been eating clothes for the last couple of weeks. Yes, I'm serious when I say eating. I found clothes hanging in the tumbler part, and they were nothing less than mangled. So, if you see me, George or Madeleine with holes in our clothes, please let us know so we can promptly throw them away. I check every piece of clothing now, but you never know when a hole will slip on by.
So, if anyone knows of someone who's getting rid of a dryer for cheap or free, please let us know. We can't afford to buy a new one, or spend much on a used one, so please keep us in mind if you hear of anything. I've been scouring Craigslist and the Spokesman Classifieds, as well as the Party Line in Omak and the Cheney Free Press, and so far, no luck.
On the brighter side of life, our living room is taking shape. We are about 70% done with the sheetrock. We should have that finished on Monday, and then I can start taping and mudding.
My dad left for Florida yesterday. It's been really hard for me. I feel now like I took him for granted, always knowing he would be in Omak when I went home to visit. Now he's not just 3 hours away. So, that will be a difficult adjustment for me. The good thing is that he will be back in the Spring, as he left some of his belongings in our garage. Oh, how I wish Spring was here! At least we have the phones! I talked to him this afternoon and he was at the Continental Divide (Montana-Wyoming-ish, for those of you who don't know where that is... up by Canada). He was going to stop off about 50 miles inside Wyoming and sleep for the night. He's been having some trouble with his truck overheating, which has never happened to him in this truck. Go figure! So, please keep him in your prayers for me.
Well, I think that about wraps it up for tonight. Seeing how it's going on 1:00 am, and I'm never up this late, I should probably get to bed. Talk to you again soon! Oh, and I do have some pictures that Maryanne e-mailed me so I'd have no excuse for not posting pics. Well, guess what! I still have an excuse. :O) I'm tired and ready for bed. So, I'll post those pictures later...
Good night!

We bought our washer and dryer at Freds Ding and Dent. The pair cost about $500. So you could lool there.
