So, I have a picture or two on here that I'll share with you. They're of my dad. And I have to tell you... my dad's the greatest. :) Yup, he sure is. So enjoy this picture of him! This is totally out of character for the "dad" I grew up with. But he's experimenting with a photogenic side of himself. Just plain silly!

Awww...isn't he cute??!
So, on another note, we're going to Omak this weekend for the Omak Stampede! I can't wait! We go every year, obviously since I grew up there. It's a big deal for us Omakians! If you ever get a chance to go (2nd weekend in August every year) I highly recommend it. Then you can see what we hicks did in our spare summer time! :) We're leaving tomorrow after I get off work, so it'll be straight out of town for us! I'm so stinking excited about that. So, I'll try to post some pictures of that soon too.
There's good news on the Franklin Hills homefront for me! My administrator talked to me on Monday morning about my job. In a nutshell, he said I'm too smart to be sitting behind a desk all day and he wants me to do something that utilizes my talents and potential. He told me that I have more potential than even I know of, which was a nice compliment! He also said that he would like for me to be able to earn more money, but that he can't pay me what I'm worth sitting at the front desk. Then he told me that, if it's okay with me, he was going to talk to the Regional Director of Operations about finding me a position in social services at one of our five area facilities. Is that okay with me??! Absolutely! So then my boss told me today that the administrator sent an e-mail to the other four area administrators telling them about me and basically marketing my skills. He is trying to get me a position either in social services or as an activities director! That would be awesome! If given the choice, I would rather stay at Franklin Hills. I really love it there. But we'll see what the Lord has in store for me. I'll tell you one thing, though. It's always nice when people recognize the hard work you do! And it's even nicer when you have people pulling for you!
Well, I should go for now. I just thought I would share the good news! I think about wanting to be a police officer. For four years, I tested with different area agencies. I couldn't pass the physical test out in the field to save my life, despite the fact that I passed it practically any other time I did it. I finally came to the realization that it's not that I couldn't pass it, it's that I wouldn't pass it. Heavenly Father has a different plan for me, regardless of the fact that I wanted to be a police officer. With all of the opportunities that have been coming my way in social work, I think I'm finally on the right path!
Now, if we could just get pregnant so Miss Madeleine can have a sibling... :)
Stay tuned for more details...
