The Biggest Loser this season is finally over. I am a very devoted fan, but I have to tell you... this season left a lot to be desired. There was so much deceit and back-stabbing, I couldn't believe it. I think the problem is that all of the contestants have been watching from home the previous seasons and they're starting to figure out how to play the game, not caring first and foremost about losing the weight. But, it's all done and here's the run-down of the season.
Ed and Heba, and Brady and Vicky were mean from day one. Actually, Ed was cool, but Heba quickly became Vicky's little puppet. They made a lot of the other contestants question why they were even there, or so it seemed. One by one, week by week, contestants were sent home to continue their weight loss journey on their own. In the end, those left standing were Ed, Heba, Vicky and Michelle (my personal favorite). It was up to America to choose between Ed and Heba as to who would not compete in the finale in the top 3, as they both fell below the yellow line in the last weigh-in at the ranch. Ed pleaded with America to keep Heba there, and Heba pleaded with America to listen to Ed (they had a strategy planned out to keep her there... Ed threw the weigh-in by gaining 2 lbs intentionally so she'd be guaranteed spot in the finale). Since Heba was such a rude person the whole season, I voted all of my 10 times for Ed to stay.
At the finale, Ed was the one who was chosen by America to stay, with a whopping 84% of the votes. My theory is that Heba's family is the only group of people who would vote for her. Anyway, Ed stayed to compete against Michelle and Vicky. Since Michelle had lost the highest percentage while at the ranch, she got to choose the order for the final weigh-in. She chose to have Ed first, Vicky second, herself third. So, Ed got on the scale and lost over 130 lbs total, or roughly 37% of his body weight. Impressive. Then Vicky got up there to weigh in. She was 2 lbs shy of what she needed to overtake Ed, so she did not win (YAY!!) Then it was Michelle's turn. Michelle needed to lose a total of 104 lbs in order to be the Biggest Loser. Loe and behold, she lost 110 lbs!! So she was the BL! It was awesome! I was so incredibly glad that she won because she was genuine in her reasoning for being there. Vicky, on the other hand, was there simply for the game and the potential paycheck. Michelle ended up walking away with $250,000.00 and a renewed friendship and relationship with her mother. And she looked fabulous!
Unfortunately, Heba beat out the contestants who had been voted off and won the $100,000.00 prize. But at least it wasn't Brady! LOL Oh man, I tell ya! They were some awful people, and I really hope this next season (beginning Jan. 6!!!!!!) has more wholesome and positive contestants than this time around. This season was a let-down, but hey, I still watched. And I'll watch this next season too!
Go Michelle!!
