'tis the Season!

I am so excited that Christmas is coming! It is soooo much more fun having a child to spoil at Christmas instead of just myself or my husband. :) Madeleine is at that age now where Christmas makes sense to her. We talk to her about Jesus' birth and his life, and she learns a lot at church. So now when we're out and about, she talks about Jesus and Christmas. And I have to admit, the whole gifting side of it is fun too, now that she gets excited about all things Elmo, Dora and Tinkerbell. :) It's just a whole lot of fun, and George and I have decided on some traditions that we are creating for our own little family.

Also, I don't know about anyone else, but I was sooooo incredibly excited to hear Christmas music being played on KISS 98.1 before Thanksgiving. They usually start the day after Thanksgiving, but this year I noticed it one week before. I love music, and Christmas music is of no exception.

This time of year also brings forth the Nativities From Around the World (formerly known as Creche). There, you can see over 600 nativity sets from all over the world, each with its own special meaning to the donor family. George and I will be hosting the event on Saturday from 2:45-6:15, so if you want to go to the Stake Center, we'll be there with smiles! It's a great way to invite your friends and family to feel of the love and spirit of Christ in a very non-denominational manner. There are performances each night at 7:00 pm from area choirs, including other churches. So, invite your friends, or take your family for FHE!

I have not yet heard anything on a job. Sure, it's a little unerving... especially when people ask me every day if I've heard anything. I'm stressed enough, folks. I can do without the eager probing on job prospects. I turned in an application at a nursing home today that's looking for a Social Services Director. I have to admit it was the most uncomfortable, negative environment I've been in on this side of the Idaho border! (Those who know the situation will understand the geographic location there!) In short, the lady who received my application had no idea the SSD had turned in her notice... so she was utterly confused by my application for that position. The receptionist was none too friendly... at the very least, she looked and acted as though she wished she were anywhere but at work. Strangely, I can relate with my recent stint at my previous Idaho location. Then, George told me that whenever they deliver to this certain nursing home, the staff are rude, and the drivers are made to wait for an average of 15 minutes. So, this was all after I turned it in. We'll see where it goes from here.

That about sums up my day... I'll write more later! Madeleine's taking a nap, which doesn't usually happen, so I need to take advantage and get dinner going, get some paperwork done, get the house clean, do this, do that, look for a job, blah, blah, blah...*sigh* Okay, later!! :)
