One heck of a week!

I will start out by telling you all that I lost my job on Tuesday. Yup, two days before Thanksgiving. My administrator found out from my supervisor that I was still looking for a job in my degree field, so she let me go so they could hire someone who plans on being there long-term. Even still, the drive to Coeur d'Alene daily, the extra money I was making going into my gas tank, the miserable living situation for the poor residents at that facility... I'm not broken-hearted about not working there any more. Don't get me wrong... I adore my supervisor, Linda. She trained me when I started at Franklin Hills a couple years ago. She then got transferred around and landed at Lacrosse, so when the opportunity to hire an assistant BOM arose, I was her first, and only, pick. I love her for that. I love her for her patience and understanding. She fully supported my desire to work in my degree field. She is the one person who made my work day livable. So, she and I remain close. :) I just feel bad for her that she is still there and completely miserable herself!

On a good note, though, we are so blessed in many other ways! This time of year makes me really stop and think about all that I have to be thankful for. I have a wonderful husband and daughter. Madeleine is so full of laughs. She knows how to cheer up a dismal situation with just a quick-witted comment! Ha! The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree!! LOL George is so supportive in all that I do. He's absolutely wonderful. That's reaffirmed to me on a daily basis.

My family is wonderful to us! They are also very supportive and willing to listen when something's not right. We've had our fair share (or maybe more than fair share) of trials last week alone. Trials I don't wish to relive. But my parents were supportive when I called them to talk about what all had happened.

I have amazing friends that can't be replaced. Sure, we have disagreements from time to time, but that's what keeps friendships interesting. :)

I went shopping on Black Friday, which is only the 2nd year I've done it. I got up at 3:00 am and was out the door by 3:55 to get to JCPenney's by 4:00 am. I had pulled some money specifically for shopping, but in light of my lack of work now, we decided to put most of it into savings and I just took a small amount with me. I got some good gifts for Madeleine and George. It's amazing how money stretches when you most need it to!

I have some job prospects in line, and I'm hoping and praying one, in particular, comes through for me. So, your prayers would be much appreciated!
