Last week we had a lot of fun! Thursday we had planned on going swimming with my mother-in-law and the other grandkids, so we ended up at the Hillyard Pool. It was so fun there because they have a great kids' area for the little ones! Madeleine and her cousin Megan had fun going down the slide; that is, after Madeleine and Isaiah convinced Megan to go down the slide! She wouldn't go under the water that falls onto the stairs, so Madeleine went down the slide solo. Finally, Isaiah was able to get Megan to go under the water, and after that she LOVED the slide!!
Friday, after we took George to work, I decided to take the kids to Greenbluff to walk around and look at the shops. We went to a couple places but didn't do much. It was ridiculously hot! And, truth be told, it was kind of lame. I love Greenbluff in the fall, but the summer? Not so much. However, we still made the best of it, as you can see in the pictures.
On the way back down from Greenbluff we were all hot so I dcecided to take the kids to Little Spokane River out by Windermere. We go there for Labor Day each year, so I knew this would be a fun, refreshing way to cool off. And I know it's safe. The river, honestly, scares me, so there is only one area of the river I'll take the kids, and Little Spokane is it. I've heard of too many people drowning out in the main areas of the river, so I try to avoid most of it.
Madeleine had a blast finding rocks and throwing them. But we came upon two gems! Well, not gems in the sense of precious stones, but in the sense that we knew Auntie Adie would love them. We found two heart-shaped rocks, and she collects them. So, we scooped them up and delivered them to Auntie later in the day. She loved them! I included those in the pics, as well.
My favorite picture out of all of them has to either be Baby George wearing my sunglasses, or Madeleine holding two small rocks up in front of her face. :)
Enjoy! We sure did!
