Some days I wonder if Madeleine is possessed! Today has been one of those days; er, at least after Grandma and Grandpa Omak left for the night. She has been backtalking all evening, yelling at us, screaming "no", and a few other not-so-choice actions. WHAT IS GOING ON AND WHERE HAS OUR SWEET LITTLE GIRL GONE?????
I am so incredibly frustrated and really am just at a loss as to what I can or need to do. She has been like this since about a week after Baby George was born. We include her in everything we can, she helps out like a champ, she is always holding her brother, kissing and hugging him, making him laugh, etc. And then there are days like this...
Yes, there are times that I have to devote my sole attention to Baby George, such as feeding and nap time. Other than that, I make a point to have "Mommy/Madeleine time" so she doesn't feel left out.
How do I teach her to appropriately vent her frustrations? Any suggestions would be much appreciated, as I am at my wit's end tonight!!!

You know, I wondered this same thing with Mason after having Cooper, I never did find out the answer. Maybe that is why Mason will still scream at us sometimes, or maybe it's because he is 5 and re-testing his boundaries. I think it is totally natural for the older sibling to do this, and you are probably on the right track in your thinking that she just doesn't know how to communicate her frustrations. Good luck in your hunt for an answer and let me know if you find out anything, as I too will be dealing with this same problem again in no time.
