Sheer Excitement!

So, for the longest time I have not been able to change the background on my blog from my laptop. I figured I'd give it a try since they updated their site, and VOILA! A nice, shiny new background just in time for winter! I might be changing it more frequently now that I can do it from home! So, Crystyne... I no longer need you to hack into my blog to change it for me. But thanks for your help!! :)

Madeleine continues to amaze me. She comes up with tons of new phrases, sentences, words and facial expressions all the time. Why, for example, just yesterday in Wal-Mart she said, "Mommy. I'm gonna piss you off." Uh, what? Where did that come from? So, in my momentary panic, I told her that was not appropriate. I talked with George about it last night, as this is not the first "shocker" of a sentence she's come up with, and we came up with what might be a viable solution. Since she doesn't respond well to us correcting her (remember the "Oh my G*d" post a couple weeks ago? That has not changed much, despite our correcting her, putting her in time out, taking away toys, etc...) we decided what we might do is put a tiny bit of Tobasco Sauce on our finger and stick it on her tongue when she says something that inappropriate. Does that sound harsh to anyone? It'll get the point across... that much we know, because she does not like hot foods. But we're kind of at a loss from there. We've tried telling her it makes Jesus sad to hear her say such things, but merely elicits an apology and then she'll say it again later. So, any suggestions? We're all ears!

Other than that, she still amazes us in much more positive ways. She is so incredibly intelligent (and no, I'm not saying that bc she's our daughter, it really is the truth!). I have this sneaking feeling she's going to be like my little brother... highly intelligent and bored in class, so she'll likely make up some disruptive ways of entertaining herself. We'll see. In the mean time, we will work with her on honing her skills and proudly watch her develop!

Okay, enough for tonight. I'm trying to get back into posting more frequently.

Love the background! Don't worry, I can't remember your password, so there is no way I could hack in now, even if I wanted to.
