Madeleine's First Haircut!

Madeleine's first haircut was fairly traumatic for her. Not because she lost a lot of hair, but because of where we first went.

First of all, I took her to Mastercuts, which is where I've been going for 10 years. I didn't know of any kids' haircut places, and nobody I asked knew of any, so I opted to go to Mastercuts.

When we walked in, there were 4 women sitting in their styling chairs just talking, and one man standing around. The man walked over, took our information, and then directed us to a chair for Madeleine's haircut. She instantly started crying. Hysterically. Now, keep in mind, the guy was larger around and taller than George. Very overbearing presence. Anyway, so he put boosters in a chair for her so she could sit up tall. Well, she was having nothing of it, and she continued to cry. He said, "Hi" and "Madeleine?" That was it. I was trying to calm her, as were my mom and step-dad, and George and Tamieka. Finally, after a whopping 1 1/2 minutes, the male stylist said to me, "So, are we going to be able to do this today?" I said, "Not with that attitude, you're not." Rude! There was one; count 'em, ONE, person getting a haircut, and nobody else! So, why the hurry?? Needless to say, I will NOT EVER be going to Mastercuts again. And Mia and Maxx is a great place to go, I found. :) They're also in the mall, so very convenient.

We were walking out when one of the girls told me about Kidz Kutz at the Y. What a blessing! The lady was so good with her, and Madeleine had a really good experience. Below are some pics of the haircut.

So you did end up going to Kids Kuts? I could have told you about them, I used to take Mason there, until I learned how to cut his hair my self. (I learned how to cut (boys) hair just before Cooper was born) But if I'm ever in a pinch I would go back there.
