Allegro Royal Fireworks Show

Last Sunday we went to Riverfront Park with Jon and Maryanne, Jon's mom and sister, and all the kids, to watch the fireworks show at night. We got there and found a great spot on the grass. It was so nice; not too hot, and certainly not too cold. We were able to just sit and relax while there was a Renaissance Fair going on. Jon, his sister Rosalynn, and George took all of the kids to the big red wagon to slide for a bit while Maryanne and I sat and talked and relaxed without the kids around. Sweet!

Madeleine's offering to let another little girl go ahead of her. She has such great manners!

After they all got back, the fireworks were soon to follow:

Ooohhhh....

Aaahhhhh....

Beautiful!

Madeleine liked the pictures of the fireworks, but she didn't much care for the show itself. I don't think she has linked the loud bang with something beautiful, so this is where she was hiding out during the fireworks:

Under the blanket that was across my lap!

So... she decided to make the best of a "scary" situation:

...by letting me make a pig nose on her! :)

Then she was laying her head on my stomach, kind of hiding in my sweatshirt that she was wearing:

She and I got to laughing, which she thought was pretty funny because her head was going up and down when I was laughing. That, in turn, made her laugh more, which, of course, made me laugh more! We must have laughed for a solid 5 minutes!

And, of course, one of the highlights of the night is the music! I couldn't get any clear pictures of the conductor or the band, so I thought I would add some pretty pictures from the night:

Finally, the highlight of Madeleine's night was the fact that she pointed to a star and said it was hers. She told me that Heavenly Father gave her her very own star. Here it is in all its glory!
