After what feels like forever, we are finally expecting another child! We've been trying for about 1 1/2 years, and I guess now's the time. So, needless to say, we're extremely excited!
How did we break the news? Well...
*I called my mom first (duh!).
*George very casually told Maryanne with me sitting next to him talking to his mother on the phone. I then lectured him on how men aren't to tell their wife's best friend the great news! *sigh* Moving on...
*I called my dad and told him. He reminded me of how babies are made and lectured me on how I'm not supposed to be intimate until I'm 95. Inside joke, but let's just say the age increases every time the subject comes up. He's so cute! :)
*I told my boss and a couple close friends at work. Well, let me narrow that down further... the ones I knew wouldn't say anything. :) Sorry, Kim!! Love you! LOL
*George called his parents.
And that was it... for nearly 3 weeks, we kept it secret. We're so good!
And then...
We went to see the Dr. yesterday for an ultrasound. Sure enough! A nice, strong heartbeat, and I'm 10 weeks along! My due date? Jan. 22, 2010!!! My birthday is Jan. 21, my grandma's was Jan. 20, and my dad's is Jan. 24. Now, since I already know I have to have a c-section, I get to choose the date at any time after 39 weeks. :) Hooray! Part of me wants to have him/her on my birthday, but the other part of me wants to honor my late grandma by having the baby on the 20th. My dad? Well, since he's being a turkey about the logistics, he'll be lucky if I consider his birthday a day to have the baby. LOL Nah, I'm just kidding! We'll see...
After the appt, it was safely time to tell others. I told my co-workers this morning in our meeting, which was fun. We always talk about new stuff going on in our lives at the end of the meeting, so that was a nice surprise for everyone. I was up until midnight decorating paper for 2 picture frames. Why? One of them was for Adrianna as her belated graduation gift. Hers said, "You're going to be an auntie again!" I also made one for Mike and Paula, as their gift for getting their only child through high school successfully. Theirs said, "Ready to be Grandma and Grandpa again?" I gave those to them today when I picked up Madeleine from daycare. The look on Adrianna's face was priceless! She was stunned! It took her a second to figure out what it meant, but then she got it and gave me a big hug. Awwwww.... then Paula started yelling with excitement and hugging me. They were both heart-shaped frames. My original plan was to copy pictures of yesterday's ultrasound, but I forgot to get them from the Dr. Oh well. This was more creative, I think.
We already have names picked out... if it's a boy, he'll be George Edward Leppert III, obviously after daddy and Grandpa. It's so important to George to carry on his name, and I can respect that. :) Not that I'm overly fond of the name, but I'll do it for him because I love him. If it's a girl, her name will be Alexandrhia Kaye Leppert. My mom and my mom-in-law both have Kay as their middle name. My mom's is Kae, and Mom Leppert is Kay, so we'll combine the two and make KAYE. We're considering throwing LaVoy in there (think "Kaye LaVoy") after George's Grandma Leppert. Not sure yet... kind of a mouthful, but such an important and amazing person!! The girl's name IS subject to change, though not likely. I love the name Victorhia, (you like the "Rhiannon" touch in the spelling?!) but I can't stomach the thought of people calling her Vickie or Torie. Long story, history behind both names, not fond of either. So, as much as I love the name Victorhia, I think I'll have to pass. We'll see later on.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I knew you guys would be blessed with another!I am so happy for you. Tell George Congratulations for me!
Yeah!!! I am so happy! George is lucky! I didn't let Jon have a "II", but I think it makes a difference that George is already a "II" and he wants to carry his name on. Anyway....I am a little to stubborn on that! :) I totally agree on the girl name though! I like Alexandrhia more! You gotta through in the "h" eh! :)
"Not that I'm overly fond of the name, but I'll do it for him because I love him."
I had a good laugh at that LOL! ;o) You are so cute! We are a lot a like you & I... ;o) You know my name would have been Ernest Jorge if I was a boy...GOOD THING I WAS A GIRL!! haha I tease my parents that my middle name wouldn't be pronounced "George", but "Whore-hay". Not cool haha ;o)People would take one look at my whitness & be like, "You aren't Mexican..." Ok bad joke...but still ;o)
Congratulations & I hope it's a boy! Then you can join the 1 of each club haha ;o) BUT if it's a girl that's cool too ;o) Keep me posted!!
